ABOUT
Save the Paws is an NGO dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating stray animals with little to no support on the streets. During my time working with the organisation, I was part of multiple feeding drives, vaccination efforts, basic medical camps, and adoption awareness initiatives that directly helped improve the lives of vulnerable animals.
Over the course of my involvement, approximately ₹1.7 lakh (around USD $2,050–2,100) was raised and used for animal food, medical treatment, vaccinations, and rescue operations. These funds supported the care of 50+ stray animals, including injured, abandoned, and malnourished dogs.
I actively contributed by helping distribute food to strays, supporting veterinary check-ups, and assisting with awareness drives in local communities. I was also involved in responding to distress calls and helping coordinate rescues when needed. Through these efforts, we conducted several vaccination and treatment sessions, helping prevent disease and improve overall animal health in the area.
What stood out the most was the organisation’s dedication despite limited resources. Volunteers consistently showed up to rescue injured animals, provide medical care, and ensure no animal was left unattended. Witnessing this level of commitment taught me responsibility, teamwork, and empathy.
This experience helped me understand how even small contributions, when organised properly, can create long-term impact. Being part of Save the Paws showed me the power of community service and reinforced my belief that meaningful change begins with taking action.
