PHELA AKSHAR

ABOUT

I participated in Pehla Akshar’s online storytelling sessions, which are designed to build confidence and improve English fluency among young children through simple, engaging stories. Instead of traditional teaching, the program uses interactive storytelling to make learning feel fun and approachable, especially for students who may not have strong language support at home.
During the sessions, I read short stories aloud, acted out characters, and encouraged the children to participate by repeating lines, guessing what might happen next, or sharing their own little experiences. The aim was to get them comfortable listening to English and eventually speaking it without fear. Even though the sessions were online, the kids were extremely responsive—many of them eagerly unmuted to answer questions or read small parts themselves.
What I enjoyed most was seeing how storytelling helped them open up. Some children who were initially shy slowly started speaking more, asking questions, and even trying to read along. Moments like that really showed how powerful simple stories can be in building confidence.
Being part of Pehla Akshar’s online program taught me patience, communication skills, and how to keep children engaged through a screen. It was a meaningful experience, and it felt good knowing that something as small as reading a story could make a real difference in someone’s learning journey.
