BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

ABOUT

I was part of a Blood Donation Drive that brought together members of the community to donate blood in support of local hospitals and emergency needs. Through this initiative, we collected over 125+ units of blood, potentially helping save hundreds of lives.
During the drive, I managed the registration desk, guided donors through procedures, verified documents, and ensured they were comfortable before and after donating. I also coordinated with the medical team to manage donor flow, making sure each stage—screening, donation, and recovery—ran smoothly and efficiently throughout the event.
The drive lasted approximately 4–5 hours and required careful coordination to handle a large number of donors without delays. Speaking with donors and hearing their personal reasons for contributing made the experience deeply meaningful and emphasised how essential blood donation is to hospitals and patients in need.
This experience strengthened my organisational skills, responsibility, and ability to work under pressure. More importantly, it reinforced the importance of community service and how a single action, when multiplied, can create real impact. I would willingly take part in similar drives again in the future.
